I'm doing another Sage playthrough and I just noticed this with the Hoffmeister.

The most definitive way to tell she's interested is she'll invite you over to dinner with her friends by Episode 8 (I believe). If you don't get that scene then you're no longer on her path for a couple of reasons
1. You don't have the proper Affinity as you need to be either Neutral or Chik to be with her by the end of episode 8.
2. You failed to go with her on a date during Episode 6 instead of taking care of Sage (Difficult I know)
3. You likely made a bunch of other smaller errors that added up, like didn't kiss her during your dates or at Isabella's house. Choose to date her to piss off Tybalt etc etc.
But all of my Jill saves made the necessary choices to enable Jill's path. Hope this helps.
